Frequently Asked Questions

If your pet has passed away at a veterinary hospital, you will need to ask which pet crematory they use. You do not have to use the facility your veterinary hospital suggests. Bring the cremation authorization form and call us at 585-265-9933 and we will handle the logistics. Partner vets will guide you through the process and provide relevant forms.

If your pet has passed away at home you may bring the pet to us, but we do require a scheduled appointment during office hours. After hours appointments are available upon request. Arranging the pick-up of your pet from your home is also available for a fee. Please call 585-265-9933.

Most pet cremation providers offer two types of cremation; Pet Passages® is the only organization to offer three types of pet cremation services. We have Private, Semi-Private, and Communal options available. For full details visit the Cremation Services page.

A pet funeral or memorial service is a fine way to bring friends and family together in remembrance of your pet. We take care of all the details and support you through the service.

Funerals can range from simple private gatherings to a more formal service. Visit our Funeral Services page for more details.

Memorialization is a testament to your family’s love and devotion of your cherished pet. This can be achieved through tangible items such as urns or other memorial products, but there is also a unique opportunity online. Pet Passages® utilizes technology to create an online space to memorialize your pet in many different ways including photos, tribute messages, music, and more. Visit our Memorialization page for full details.

Naturally, you want to ease their way.

The decision to euthanize is a very difficult decision to make but is a necessary decision when the animal is starting to suffer. Please consult with your veterinary professional! They will have professional advice on how to ease your pet through this transition.

The word euthanasia comes to us from the Greek word that means “good death” or “fortunate death”. In modern society it generally refers to the practice of intentionally ending a life in order to relieve pain and suffering.

Pet Passages® has relationships with several traveling veterinary services that will perform euthanasia services on our premises. To learn more visit our Euthanasia page.
